Posthuman Vernacular Exhibition
Curated by Jesse Damiani
At Paris Blockchain Week
Extending Algorand’s emphasis on real-world application of cutting-edge technology, Posthuman Vernacular is an exhibition that examines the emergent languages that artists are developing through digital tools and collaborators. From working symbiotically with machines to examining new forms of sovereignty and community-building through blockchain, the work seen here highlights how these artistic innovations function as new languages for sensemaking within complex systems. In so doing, they make way for more vibrant, equitable, and sustainable futures.
Glichen
Glichen is an animation short based on a short story Aya is co-creating with artificial intelligence. Glichen is a galactic guardian of the digital galaxy and she recharges by flowing through the titanium tunnel underneath Saturn’s rings.

The Inquiry: Postreality
VERSA is an emergent AI poet developed by theVERSEverse x Ross Goodwin, trained on the collective and ever-expanding poetry of the writers of theVERSEverse. Relic: Carpet Data Painting E
Orkhan Mammadov uses machine learning and AI to reinvent traditional carpet design techniques, recontextualizing historical ornamental carpet patterns into the digital age. In his artwork ‘Relic’, Mammadov collaborates with AI to produce unique yet familiar patterns, questioning cultural appropriation and reclaiming ownership of deep-rooted cultural traditions in a contemporary context. Mammadov expands the interpretation of patterns beyond carpet weaving to computing systems that recognize regularities in data sets, blurring the lines between fine art and crafts through technology. ‘Relic’ proposes alternative futures for multiculturalism across technologies, uniting the old and new to reinvent each other.
Drawn Milan
AI neural style transfer treatment of footage of the Duomo di Milano taken by Mohler in 2021. A continuation of the “Painted Cities” series, which explores the subconscious of Ai and painted video. Part of the generative and Ai art movement.
